Anita Kruse Releases If We Can Fly To The Moon
HOUSTON - Houston singer/songwriter Anita Kruse has released If We Can Fly To The Moon, a moving tribute to the September 11 tragedy. Released by Purple Records, funds from the sales of the single will benefit those communities impacted by the events on September 11. The CD is available at Body, Mind & Soul or through Anita Kruse at akk@nol.net.
"The events of September 11 have prompted all of us to rethink our lives, our priorities and our future," said Kruse. "As an artist, I was inspired to write If We Can Fly To The Moon as a message of hope and understanding to the tragedies that befell our country on September 11."
This single was recorded at Sugar Hill Recording Studio and features the background vocals of many of Kruse's musical students, some as young as 6 years old. Local musicians, producers and arrangers donated their time and talent including producer Robbie Parish and Tom Jaber, Choir Director at Rice University who directed the children in background vocals.
A classically trained pianist, Kruse began writing her own music while completing a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the University of Michigan. She has worked as a soloist and accompanist for several years, performing throughout the United States. Kruse also worked as a visiting artist at Houston's Poe Elementary School where she guided children in developing original music based on their own life experiences. In addition to performing nationwide, she continues to live and work in Houston as an instructor in piano and songwriting for both children and adults.
Kruse has recorded five CDs including 200l Lullabies from Home, a touching compilation of 12 soothing lullabies featuring Kruse's distinctive voice and piano mastery. Lullabies From Home takes the listener on a musical journey of soothing lyrics presented in Kruse's captivating voice. More than a children's CD, Lullabies from Home calls upon people of all ages to relive the magic and beauty of music sung from the heart. Other CDs include All We Have Is Now, Light, Creation Flight and Christmas Light. She is currently working on her sixth CD, Dreaming Out To Sea.
