It was so exciting to walk into the studio and sing, If We Can Fly to the Moon. When I started singing, I thought about what happened to all the people on September 11. After we recorded the song, my mom congratulated me on my performance. She gave me a big hug. I felt so thankful that I had my mom and dad, and everyone I love. It also made me feel sad for thoses who lost their lives, family members and friends. It also made me think that music can help, and that I can help through my music.
When we finished recording and I heard the CD for the first time, I thought how happy people might be when they listened to it. I hope it might take away some of the pain and bring light to the world. It was special to perform this with Anita. She inspires me to sing what's in my heart. That's where love is - and music.
