Robbie Parrish has worked in the recording studio and in live performance production with such notable artists as: David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Indigo Girls, Rage Against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, and U2.
Robbie is a renowned expert in creating drum sonics for movie soundtracks as well as live and studio projects.
After years of performing on the road and in concert with artists like Ernest Tubb, Hank Thompson, Jack Benny, Don Ho, Jim Nabors, The Shirelles, George Jones, Vikki Carr, Shirley McLaine, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Box Tops, The Drifters, The Coasters, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Edgar Winter, Leon Russell, Grace Jones, Suzanne Vega, and Fever Tree; drummer/producer Robbie Parrish now provides his knowledge, musical experience, and instinct for sound and rhythm as direction and guidance for many new artists.
When asked what he looks for in a new artist or group to produce, Robbie says, "When looking for a new artist, a unique overall sound with human qualities and magical imperfections is most attractive to me. The artist or group must feel natural and comfortable and possess a high energy level. I always look for the sound behind the voice, and I like to work with a 'diamond in the rough' where I can help polish both the performance and the sound. It's of utmost importance to me that an artist keep his or her individuality rather than expect me to mold them into something they're not. I'm not a puritan or a traditionalist - that only creates a dead end in your life. I'm all about moving forward, and I look for artists who want to grow and experience a full spectrum of musical and emotional expression."
