Have you ever responded to a personal ad? Brian Hazard of Color Theory is hoping you will. Perfect Tears, his latest album, is so intimate that it is being promoted through a series of personal ads. The music is a synthesis of sophisticated piano playing, intelligent lyrics, and heartfelt vocals - with an electronic backbone. With lyrics covering the full spectrum of relationship experiences, Hazard describes Perfect Tears as "a soundtrack to the lives of the lovesick." Recommended if you like Everything But The Girl, Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, Ben Folds Five. Testimonials "Brian Hazard, who is Color Theory, has always presented well crafted, well thought-out songs, but with Perfect Tears he enters a whole new level of creativity and songwriting excellence. This is an album I do not just recommend for fans of synthpop, but for all fans of good, meaningful music." -Dave Richards, Lexicon Magazine Tracks 1) Stare Out The Window 2) April's Bonfire 3) New Year's Eve 4) Long Distance Martyr 5) Now I Know 6) Guilt Reflected 7) Ordinary & Free 8) Faces 9) Acting Class 10) For Good 11) Souvenir 12) Until Last Night Artist Profile Color Theory proves that it is possible to create intensely human music with machines. The Southern California one-man band has been touching listeners since the 1994 release of Sketches In Grey. Despite the lack of mainstream national distribution or a single live performance, the first pressing of the CD sold out. Demand was high for a new album, and Color Theory responded with the 1997 release of Tuesday Song, which includes the daringly non-fiction song used for a real-life marriage proposal. A series of acoustic performances and a strong Internet presence has helped to build an international following that eagerly awaits the release of Perfect Tears.
